The Charles Wood Singers rehearse under the direction of David Hill and Paul Farrington.

10.30 - 12.30 Organ Workshop – Daniel Hyde

Church of Ireland Cathedral

Daniel will offer advice to players of all levels using the three manual instrument. Participants should bring a copy of a prepared piece.

13.10 - 13.50 Lunchtime Concert - Peter Harris (Tenor)

First Presbyterian Church

Peter Harris will sing a selection of his favourite pieces, accompanied by Rodney Spence. Peter is currently studying Music at Oxford University and singing with Neil Mackie at the Royal Academy of Music in London.

Maeve Falconer, formerly principal soprano of the Carl Rosa Opera Company, performs a selection of her favourite pieces, accompanied by David Falconer.

Thursday 26th August

10.00 - 12.00 Singing the Psalms

St Mark's Church

Dr Hugh McCullough and the Rev Peter Thompson introduce the Metrical Psalmody of the Reformed Presbyterian Church and the new Responsorial Psalmody of the Church of Ireland, comparing and contrasting differing approaches to these ancient Jewish texts which continue to inspire Jews and Christians in the 21st century. Participants will be invited both to learn about these two methods of Psalm singing, and also to experience them at first hand through this interactive workshop. This workshop will be of interest to all who sing the psalms in worship, and is also suitable for those who have no knowledge or experience of psalm singing.

13.10 - 13.50 Lunchtime Concert - Brian Vallely and Armagh Pipers Club

Theo, who is Organist and Master of the Choristers at the Church of Ireland Cathedral in Armagh, will provide an opportunity to explore hymns, old and new.
