Judith Gannon

Judith Gannon's musical education started with piano studies at the age of six. She began her church music career as a founder member of Christ Church Cathedral Girls' Choir under Mark Duley and became the first Junior Organ Scholar of the cathedral in 1998 under the instruction of Andrew Johnstone. She continued her organ studies with Peter Sweeney when she obtained a scholarship to DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama.

She continued her piano studies at the Royal Irish Academy of Music under Patricia Kavanagh where she achieved a diploma in piano teaching. She graduated in 2004 from Trinity College, Dublin, with a Bachelor of Music Education degree and is now Head of Music in Mount Sackville Secondary School, Dublin. Here she runs the school choirs, directs the annual school musical and teaches Junior and Leaving Certificate Music. She has won several prizes with the school choir at Feis Ceoil and Navan Choral Festival and appeared with them on RTE's All Island School Choir of the Year 2011.

She was Acting Director of Music at Christ Church Cathedral from 2010-2012 and has recently returned to singing in the Cathedral Choir. In addition to this busy schedule, she is the regular accompanist for AIB Choral Society as well many singers and instrumentalists around Dublin. She also works regularly with the choirs of St Patrick's Cathedral.
