A Festival of Choirs: Sing Hallelujah!

To mark its 30th Festival, the Charles Wood Festival of Music and Summer School was delighted to welcome Minister of State for Northern Ireland Steve Baker MP to A Festival of Choirs: Sing Hallelujah on Monday 21st August. The event took place in St. Mark’s Parish Church, Armagh.

Other guests attending included Roger Wilson, Chief Executive of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, Brian Johnston, the Council’s Head of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Councillor Kevin Savage, Chair of the Council’s Economic Development and Regeneration Committee and Baroness Arlene Foster DBE, a keen supporter of the Festival.

The concert was attended by a large and appreciative audience, who enjoyed performances by Armagh City Choir, Gaudeamus (Newry), Portadown Male Voice Choir, Portadown Ladies Choir and Harmony Too (Lisburn).

The Festival continues until Sunday 27th August including a Come and Sing with its world famous Patron John Rutter CBE on Wednesday 23rd August and Gala Concert on Friday 25th August.
