Young Performers' Club
The Charles Wood Young Performers' Club was launched in 2010 with the aim of giving our many gifted young instrumentalists and singers an opportunity to hone their performance skills. Our next concert will be held in St. Patrick's CoI Cathedral, Armagh on Friday 25 April at 8.00 p.m. Admission is £10, Concessions £7.
The concert will feature eight young musicians and promises to be an exciting opportunity to hear these talented young artists at the start of their careers. They include pianist Jenny Chui, a finalist in this year's Catherine Judge Competition; Cathryn Lynch, percussionist, who won this year's Junior Instrumentalist of the Year Award at Ballymena Music Festival; three talented young sopranos: Eilis Fox, Sarah Leonard and Brenna King; and a gifted young trombonist John Gamble. Our youngest performers are thirteen-year-old Nathan Howe (an excellent clarinettist) and his twelve-year-old brother Jamie Howe, a violinist, who has just been accepted by the National Children's Orchestra.
In addition to these young performers two outstanding and very popular professional musicians will also be taking part: the superb flautist Drew Rowan and the equally superb violinist and soprano, Hailey Howe.
