Young Performers' Club

The Charles Wood Young Performers' Club was launched in 2010 with the aim of giving our many gifted young instrumentalists and singers an opportunity to hone their performance skills. Concerts are held throughout the year, as well as during the Festival week.

Our next Young Performers' Club Concert will be on Thursday 15th December at 7.30pm in the Royal School Armagh. It will feature Rowel Friers (piano), Tom Myles (clarinet) and Jack Myles (trombone).

Rowel is an amazing and very gifted young pianist, who won the EPTA UK National Piano Competition in 2015 and again in 2016. Tom (15 years old) is a member of the prestigious National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, the current Beggs & Partners Young Instrumentalist of the Year and joint winner of the NI Young Musician of the Year. His brother Jack (12 years old) was awarded the title of Most Promising Young Musician at the 2016 NI Young Musician of the Year Competition, and is already preparing for his grade 8 examinations.

This promises to be a very exciting concert, and a enjoyable social occasion: mince pies and mulled wine will be served during the interval!
